Whitecaps Look to Sweep Mariners

By: Finn Riley

Brewster, M.A. 一 The Whitecaps look to sweep the Harwich Mariners at Whitehouse Field in the first round of the CCBL playoffs, with the first pitch at 6:30 pm.

Yesterday’s game might’ve been the one of the best wins of the season for this Brewster team, as they fought back from a 5-0 deficit to win on a walk-off home run.

Today, the Caps are having Ryan Ure (Oklahoma State) take the mound for his fifth start of the season.

Ure has only improved in each outing this summer and is coming off his longest start where he lasted seven shutout innings against the Mariners.

This season, Ure has recorded a dominant 1.50 earned run average through 24 innings as both a starter and a reliever.

The Brewster bats are showing no signs of slowing down, as they recorded 11 hits yesterday with three of them being home runs.

The power in the Whitecaps lineup is becoming a major factor in the success of the offense, thanks to the booming bats of Cam Fisher (UNC Charlotte) and Dylan Goldstein (FAU).

Be sure to look out for another gem from Ryan Ure, as well as the middle of the Whitecaps lineup which has been raking as of late.
