Brewster, M.A – The Brewster Whitecaps will be back in action Saturday against their division rival, the Chatham Anglers. The first pitch will be at 5 pm at Stony Brook field.
The Whitecaps are coming off a loss after winning three consecutive games. The great thing about the Cape League is that a team can always recover from a loss with a win the next day.
“We have to bounce back in the win column. Saturday is even more important than Sunday because it is a divisional matchup,” Whitecaps Manager Jamie Shevchik said.
On the mound for the Whitecaps will be Cade Kuehler from Campbell University. Kuehler is the first baseball player out of the Campbell to be invited to team USA.
Alex Freeland will look to continue his hot start to the summer, as he has been one of the spark plugs to this Whitecaps team. “He’s been really good, and he’s steady. Right now, he’s our most consistent guy,” Shevchik said.
Kurtis Byrne (TCU) and Cade Kuehler (Campbell) are the players to watch in Saturday night’s game. Byrne had two hits in his first game and will look to continue his production going as the season continues. Kuehler is making his first start of the summer, and it is very anticipated for the Whitecaps fans.
