Whitecaps Look to Build Off Doubleheader Victories

By: Finn Riley

Brewster, M.A 一 The Whitecaps look to capture their third straight win at home against the Chatham Anglers, with the first pitch at 5:00pm.

On the mound for the Whitecaps is Brian Fitzpatrick (Rutgers) who is making his third start of the summer.

Fitzpatrick has been brilliant on the mound so far, allowing no runs in his first two starts, both of which ended in a Brewster victory.

The Caps’ pitching won’t have to worry much about the offensive support, as the Brewster bats are coming off their best performances of the season.

In Sunday’s doubleheader, the Whitecaps offense recorded 16 total hits on the day and displayed some power by crushing two home runs.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the red-hot Alex Freeland (UCF) who currently leads the Cape league in home runs. As well as Davis Diaz (Vanderbilt) and his teammate Javier Vaz (Vanderbilt) who accounted for two of Brewster’s three runs in their last game.

The Whitecaps are looking to stay ahead of the Anglers in the East division standings, and are also seeking revenge from their last game which resulted in a Brewster loss.
