Whitecaps Face a Must-Win Game Two

By: Finn Riley

Brewster, M.A. δΈ€ In Game Two of the CCBL Championship Series, the Whitecaps find themselves in a must-win game against the Bourne Braves at Stony Brook Field, with the first pitch at 3:30 pm.

Yesterday, the Caps dropped their first playoff game this postseason, falling 3-0 to the Braves in an uncharacteristically slow night on the offensive end.

Brewster looks to stay alive today by having Braxton Pearson (TCU) take his second postseason start.

In his first start, Pearson went four innings against the Harwich Mariners, allowing one run and recording six strikeouts.

During the regular season, Pearson was one of the most reliable arms in the bullpen, as he finished with a 2.50 earned run average through 18 innings of work.

The Brewster bats are looking for a bounce-back performance, after totaling six hits and getting shutout by Bourne in game one.

Be sure to watch for Carson DeMartini (Virginia Tech) and Kurtis Byrne (TCU), as both were held hitless last night and are due for a redemption game.

Tune into our Twitter (@WhitecapsCCBL) for live updates on the game and listen to a radio call (here) from commentators Johnny Gadamowitz and Doug Lattuca.
