Brewster, M.A – Don’t worry Brewster fans; it was only the first of many games this summer. The good news is the Whitecaps will return to Stony Brook Field Monday night against the Y-D Red Sox, with the first pitch coming at 5 pm.
The last time the Whitecaps walked off Stony Brook Field, the team was hoisting the Cape League championship trophy. It will be a slightly different Monday, with different players and even some different coaches.
Although one thing will be similar, Brian Fitzpatrick (LHP) from Rutgers will be on the bump for the Whitecaps. Fitzpatrick was on the 2021 championship team and pitched a gem in the first round of the CCBL Playoffs against the Harwich Mariners.
Both Brewster and Y-D will be looking for their first wins after the Red Sox tied with the Orleans Firebirds Sunday Night.
On Monday night, two players to watch for the Whitecaps will be Brennan Millone (Oregon) and Logan Bravo (Harvard). Millone finished opening day with three hits, and Bravo is a powerful first baseman who finished opening day with two hits.
Follow all the action on the Whitecap’s Twitter, and be sure to watch the first live stream of the season broadcasted by Johnny Gadamowitz and Doug Lattuca.
