Brewster, M.A – The Whitecaps suffered a 3-0 defeat against the Y-D Red Sox in a seven-inning game.
In the bottom of the fourth, the game went into a lightning delay that lasted a half hour, but the players came back on the field and played until darkness halted the game in the seventh inning.
The Red Sox put up three runs in the top of the third, which was all they needed to take down the Whitecaps.
The Whitecaps were held to three hits a day after an eight-run performance against the Falmouth Commodores.
Ryan Ure (Oklahoma State), Matt Bedford (Notre Dame), Grant Kipp (Yale), and Braxton Pearson (TCU) all pitched in tonight’s matchup.
Ryan Lasko (Rutgers), David Mendham (Oklahoma State), and Kurtis Byrne recorded the three hits for the Whitecaps.
The Whitecaps’ inconsistent July continues, but they will be back in action Friday at 5 pm.
